Advocacy

Advocacy is a powerful way for us to leverage the important work that we do here at Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky. By advocating on behalf of CHNK, our employees, board members, volunteers, and other bridge builders help increase the likelihood of our continued success.

Advocacy is a broad term that covers many different types of activities, but some types of advocacy that we engage in here at CHNK include:

  • Public Education. Throughout the year, we meet with various elected officials in order to educate them on the services we offer, the youth and families impacted by our services, and how decisions they make in their roles as elected officials affect CHNK.
  • Legislative Lobbying. We pay close attention to specific pieces of legislation that could impact the services we offer. This helps us to advance – and protect – our mission and impact.
