PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at CHNK Behavioral Health provides quality outpatient care for adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with a significant mental illness and/or substance use disorder. CHNK’s treatment team, comprised of an advanced practice registered nurse, a board-certified psychiatrist, and licensed therapists, uses a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed approach to guide the program’s structure. CHNK’s trauma-informed approach to care creates a treatment environment that is safe, acknowledges human emotion and loss, and empowers future possibilities.
What is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
A PHP provides a structured program of outpatient psychiatric services as an alternative to inpatient care. It’s more intense than treatment you might receive in a doctor’s or therapist’s office, but rather than staying in a hospital you can continue to reside at home and simply commute to CHNK for services.
What should I expect as a patient in the PHP?
Treatment takes place 5 days a week – Monday through Friday – for 4 hours each day. A typical day may include individual therapy, group therapy, skill-building, and medication management (if needed). Each patient has an individualized treatment plan that is unique to their specific needs and developed in partnership with CHNK’s treatment team.
Where does treatment take place?
CHNK’s outpatient office is located at:
525 W. Fifth Street, Suite 219
Covington, KY 41011
Conveniently located just off I-75N, the office offers free off-street parking. It is also located on a bus line.
How long will I be in treatment?
The length of treatment varies by patient but is typically 4-6 weeks.
Do you accept Medicaid?
We do! We accept all Medicaid MCOs and most commercial insurance.
